Jacqueline Hertoghs is a seasoned professional with over twenty years of experience in drug research and development. She has a background in fundamental viral research from the University of Leiden in the Netherlands, the Université Libre in Brussels and from SmithKline Beecham Biologicals (currently GSK Biologicals).
Her clinical research expertise includes positions at several central laboratories and contract research organizations, where she gained a broad experience across service categories in various phases of drug development. Senior management positions were held in clinical operations, business development, and marketing.
Jacqueline has twice played a key role in establishing the setup and start-up of a European central laboratory for an American company, first for SmithKline Beecham Clinical Laboratories (currently Quest) in 1991 and subsequently in 1999 for LabCorp (currently Esoterix). The latter, at the time virtually unknown in clinical trial testing in Europe, is now one of the top five global central laboratories. During her career Jacqueline developed a broad spectrum of functional expertise, including Human Resources, finance, project management, business development, marketing, logistics, client support services and general management.
Jacqueline created her own consultancy firm in 2005. In one of her recent assignments she successfully managed the Belgian division of a midsize international CRO for a period of 4 years.
In January 2012, together with her former colleague, Tom van Paepegem, Jacqueline co-founded the CRO Harmony Clinical Research bvba where she assumes responsibility for business development and general management.
